Could it be that we are looking for these amazing revelations about the Word? Are we drawn to preachers who blow our mind? I know I am. But sometimes the greatest revelation is not the hidden message but the straight forward message that we need to embrace not with our mind but our hearts. This happened to me this morning, I was reading Romans 8:11:
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…”
And I had to pause for a moment. Not because I had to figure out what God was meaning but because my heart was not embracing the magnitude of this scripture.
Think about it, pause. God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, has placed His Spirit, the one who was there and responsible for raising Jesus from the dead inside of you! If that doesn’t blow your mind then I don’t know what will. And it’s not a power He’s placed inside, it’s His Spirit, it’s a person. That means that the Spirit that sees your obstacles, your burdens, your sins, your trials is the one who walked with Jesus in His trials, burdens and obstacles and empowered Him to overcome them including His own death.
That is the Spirit that accompanies you to work, school, shopping and throughout your life. I don’t know about you, but when I read that this morning I was left thinking that I don’t need another revelation right now, I need to believe this one, because what would it look like in my life if I truly did believe it?
